September 3, 2023 - Fly to Frederick for breakfast

There was a San Francisco-like heavy fog hanging over Essex Skypark this morning.  Here, Mark can hardly see well enough to fuel his RV-8.

Chuck and Rachel lost in the fog.

Tom is used to flying in these conditions since he has a bush plane.

And then the fog was gone, just like that.  Actually, the fog was just Chip in the Stearman blowing smoke, as he is wont to do.

Today the Essex Skypark gaggle was heading west to Frederick for breakfast.  We couldn't head east because the entire eastern shore was covered by presidential temporary flight restriction zone.

A nice day for it.

Chip and his daughter Amy heading out in the Stearman.

Charlie and girlfriend head out in the RV-8.

Tom and friend Mike in the mighty Maule.

Chuck and Rachel.

Mark and me.

There goes Chip, still blowing smoke.

The RVs are moving out.

RVs on the prowl over Baltimore.

Eleven Essex Skyparkians waiting for a table to become available at the busy Airways Inn Restaurant.

Two RVs, a Maule and Stearman parked outside the Airways Inn Restaurant with the Frederick Tower in the distance.

Looks like Rachel enjoyed her flight in the RV.  Rachel has a private pilot's license; who knows, maybe she will own and fly an RV someday!
